OPPORTUNITIES
MARKETING Team
The Marketing Volunteers work in advance of the Festival to distribute 5,000 postcards to dance studios, performing arts venues throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens, and local businesses in Long Island City. This work begins the week of July 9th and continues to August 3rd.
Information Team
The Information Volunteers are located at the Information Tents in each park. They are responsible for interfacing with curious passersby and festival patrons about the performance schedule, artists, INSITU mission, getting around LIC and from park to park, and of course location of closest public restroom. We need enthusiastic, outgoing people on this team.
Audience Leaders
Audience Leaders are the movers of the Festival, guiding people from one performance to the next through each sequence. These lucky volunteers experience each performance in their assigned park. The ability to project your voice to crowds is a plus!
Production Team
The Production Team supports our production director in managing the pickup, installation, removal and return of all festival equipment including small speakers, generators, tents, tables and signs. If youβre interested in gaining experience in the industry, this is a crucial position within the festival.
Park Cleanup Team
The Cleanup Team is responsible for removing light trash, plant material, and sand from all performance locations. Volunteers on this team are given a wonderful opportunity to really serve the community by helping to beautify our parks and support the artists in the performance of their works.
Artist Green Space Team
The Green Space Team is responsible for picking up all in-kind donations, anything from bread, peanut butter and jam to bottled water and bananas, from local businesses, delivering to the artistsβ holding spaces, and setting up and managing those spaces each day of the festival.
